FEMINISM

Nowadays, the gender inequality is one of the most problems that many people are concern. The gender inequality including men, women, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT). In Thailand, many people thought about the concept of being men or women such as being a woman must do house chore while being a man must do job to earn the living for their family. And they not accept for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).

Feminism, the inequal treatment of genders, is the best theory that can solving the inequality problems in Thailand including sexual harassment, exploit, human rights, etc. Sexual harassment is the most apparently problem that people in Thailand should focusing on, especially in workplace. For example, the women easier to be molested by higher position or colleague and they tend to not tell anyone because of fear for losing their work and shy. Despite this theory focus on the human right of genders, it does not upgrade the power of woman. 

Obviously, today men still taking advantage of women as seen on some social issues such as raping, abusing, hitting and disdain.Thus, the human rights especially about women must be concerned by every organization both government and private. However, there are signal telling that some of Thai people are realizing the inequality of genders by announcing “Don't tell me how to dress Tell men to respect” campaign, suggest that men should give honor and respect to women about their appearance instead of forcing women to dress up politely to avoid being victim of sexual murder.This campaign solved the problem under the concept of every people have equal opportunity in society, whether it be fairness or responsibility in society. On the other hand, the women are take advantage from men such as the special parking area for single woman will driving in shopping mall or look to a man to giving her sit in public transportation.

Feminism is only focus on the treatment of gender inequality that will be solving the cause of unfair and unfounded and causes gender oppression from false of social structure. In Thailand, there is a strong social stratum regime that is the gap between king and people. It is cause of feminism is the best theory of society in Thailand compare to other theory.

AN INTRODUCTION OF MY SELF

My name is Sahawat Yumunthama. I am 21 years old. I have done from Suankularb Wittayalai school and now I am a senior year student in King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. I am study faculty of engineering in the department of environmental engineering. In this department, I interesting of treatment and disposal for waste from industrial, it is the main of pollution in the world. I have learned about the best way to treat or dispose of the waste and the processes to get better according to concern the environment. I am very interest in the field about the wastewater because the wastewater that have many effected to the organism and environment. Wastewater most come from the process in factory and its contain more of toxic waste such as heavy metal, carcinogenic, cyanide or make negative feeling by color of the water. I want to get more understanding to the process of treatment and dispose of waste for gave the good suggestion to many people. I think now the environment could be concern first because they have many effected for living form poor environment such as disease, food, climate, etc. My short term goal is graduated master’s degree in the department of environmental engineering. In Thailand, many design wastewater treatment plants are false that can make operation and treatment problems. The consultant company of environmental engineering is my dream. It can suggest the best and truth process of treatment and dispose to the customer and also can modify their wrong design or step of treatment but I must have more experience and reliability of this field. Firstly, I want to work in many consultant company to gain experience and learn more by doing work. After that, I want to make my owner business of consultant company. 

CULTURE, SOCIETY, HUMAN RIGHTS AND REFUGEE

Society is a group of people gathering from various sex ,nationality ,religion and race living interacting or sharing belief with each other. Due to the different of nationality and race cause people have different belief, way of life or culture that can lead to some social problems such as discrimination, sexism and racial segregation, etc. Those three types of problem are occurred because people are lack of respecting in human rights which explain the liberty and rights of being human and all human beings must be treat with the same action regardless of religion, race, sex and nationality. Rohingya refugee crisis, a large group of people mainly Muslim live in Myanmar without accepted of citizenship from government, is the best example that can cleary illustrate those types of problem.The Rohingya people are discriminated by being limited access to public facilities such as school and healthcare.

Moreover there were reports about sexual violence in Rohingya women according to the My Interview With a Rohingya Refugee: What Do You Say to a Woman Whose Baby Was Thrown Into a Fire? of The New York Times said that one of the Rohingya women were raped by Myanmar soldiers but they thrown her baby into a fire before raping her in additional not only women were raped their children are also raped. Another violence occurred to the Rohingya refugee is they were killed by Myanmar soldiers and their homes were burned to the ground

In conclusion, to reduce the Inequality in society and live peacefully together is start from oneself as one has to understand and respects to his/her rights as well as to others and practice to all human equally.

REFLECTION OF THE CLASS

The inequality is effect to your life, there are various types of inequality that effect my life as you can see the parking area in the mall that has a sign Women-Only I have once been to that parking floor by misunderstanding then the security guard headed to me and yelled “men can’t enter to this floor” so, I realise that Women-Only parking lot does not mean men cannot park here its mean men can’t even enter to. Another inequality in men is some job such as sewing or decorating flower are known as women work in contrast some men can do it better. 

I have ever been discriminated when I newly enter to Taekwondo team of school and my skill are lower than other members. In practice time coach will ignore me and focus on members whose skill better. This case make me feel bad both about myself that has low skill and my teacher who neglecting me because I am not good enough. 

The vividly act of injustice I have ever seen is Black Panther case, the renowned case of Thailand. The first time I saw this case I think that person who hunting Black Panther is gonna be sentence to prison in contrast he still has his life and his demeanour are slightly forgot as various media are not mention about the case anymore.

All that case I ever experience make me feel that inequality in Thai society is not realised by people enough as they see it as a usual or common things. Consequently, one should learn about the inequality and response to any inequality action that effects to his/her life to make other realise that doing those action are not there right thing. Moreover, one should treat other with the same action regardless of sex, social status and appearance.

The way society work is very hard to changing. In my opinion, the most important factor to change the society is the conscious. The conscious will be create the people that have a positive thinking. It will decrease conflict in society.

The second way is the equal education. The government should take care of the people, especially the poor, to have equal education. These will be able to solve the problem poorly because the children can used the knowledge that get from learning to doing the work. 

The last way is about family education because family is the first social that all children will have to learn. If the children has poor family, the mind of children will be bad.
